After 9 years of standing (lets see, that would make it about 1981) the shelter blows over during the night in an 80 MPH gust of wind during a storm. I would have thought the plastic would rip free, but a couple of old 2x4's snapped on the windward side and over it went. This was in a middle of about a 10 year period where I didn't do any significant work on the boat. I was busy searching for a place in life and a life partner I could share my dreams with. I remember buying lumber to replace the shelter, but the lumber ended up sitting on the patio for about 5 years, with the boat uncovered. It filled up with water to the stern tube. I added bilge pump. Then I finally got smarter and hammered a small hole near the bottom of the keel so it would drain. The paint blistered from water diffusing through the cement since the inside was not completely sealed. Just and overwhelming project. I needed to regroup.
